A national charity, modernized
Truman Foundation is a registered Canadian charity delivering clean water, food, healthcare and education to families in Pakistan and Canada. Its website was an aging WordPress build, weighed down by leftover template content. We're rebuilding it in place — audit first, then a new design system and a donor-first homepage.
A live project, shown honestly. This is a modernization in progress. The screenshots here are the approved redesign in final review on a staging site — the public site hasn't switched over yet, so no launch traffic or donation results are claimed. We'll update this page with performance once it's live and a full quarter of data exists.

Figures describe the audit and the redesign now in final review. "Almost 200,000 people supported" is the charity's own stated figure. The public site has not switched over yet — no launch performance is claimed here.
A trusted charity, a template full of holes
The foundation's reputation was real; its website didn't match it. Under the theme was a layer of demo content that had never been cleaned out — the kind of thing donors notice and search engines penalise.
A fake address and phone on every page
The theme's demo contact block — a New York street address and a placeholder phone number — was still printing on all 119 pages.
A Donate button pointing to the wrong domain
The site-wide "Donate" linked to an old, separate domain — sending willing donors away from the real donation page.
Real people under demo profiles
Team members were live on the site with lorem-ipsum bios, demo slugs and, in one case, a personal number exposed — a privacy risk we closed.
Claims that overstated the work
Copy implied a far larger footprint than reality. We tightened it to the two countries the charity actually serves.
Before & after
Same charity, same photography — a homepage that finally does them justice and asks for the gift clearly.
Audit first, then rebuild
A modernization done carefully — because a charity can't afford a broken donation page or a lost search ranking.
A full 119-page audit
Every page catalogued — what to keep, merge, redirect or delete — so nothing of value is lost in the rebuild.
A real design system
A child theme carrying the charity's brand blue, proper type and reusable components — self-hosted fonts, accessible colour, reduced-motion safe.
A donor-first homepage
One clear hero replacing a heavy slider, an impact card, six focused programs and a switchable seasonal appeal.
A quick-donate widget
One-time / monthly, preset and custom amounts, and a fund selector that routes to the charity's ten existing, verified donation forms.
Truthful copy
Fake phone and address removed, the footprint corrected to Pakistan and Canada, and a single verified impact line — no tax-receipt or percentage claims.
Accessible & resilient
Real buttons with labels and 44px targets, a JS-off fallback so the donate CTA always works, and reveal animations that never trap content.
Done, and what's next
The audit is complete and the redesigned homepage is built and client-approved on a staging site. What remains is final QA and the switch to live — planned carefully so donations keep flowing the whole time.
