Healthcare · Oshawa, ON

The clinic that was hard to find

DECA Health and Wellness is a busy multi-discipline clinic in Oshawa — physiotherapy, chiropractic, registered massage therapy and more. A dated Wix site left them slow and thin in search, while their Google Ads were paying for clicks that landed on broken pages. We rebuilt the website from scratch — and rescued the ad account.

The problem

Two leaks at once

Patients searching for "physio near me" or "chiropractor Oshawa" decide in seconds, on a phone. DECA had two problems working against them at the same time: a website that was slow and thin in search, and a Google Ads account quietly burning budget on clicks that went nowhere.

A page builder they'd outgrown

The Wix template was slow, hard to extend, and thin on the structured data Google and AI assistants rely on to understand a clinic.

Ads paying for broken pages

The search campaign's landing pages had been returning "page not found" since launch — a Google policy violation, and money spent to send patients to a dead end.

Conversions that weren't conversions

Most of the "conversions" the account recorded were simply people tapping Directions — so it couldn't tell a real booking from a map tap.

Budget leaking to competitors

Spend was bleeding onto rival-brand searches that rarely turn into a booking for anyone but the rival.

What we did

Rebuilt the site, rescued the ads

A new website built on static HTML with no page builder in the way — and a Google Ads account cleaned up so every dollar is doing a job.

Speed & structure

54 hand-built pages on clean URLs — fast on the mobile connections patients actually use, with no framework tax.

Local signals, everywhere

Precise Oshawa address, hours, phone and service area encoded in machine-readable data on every single page.

Built for AI answers

130 valid clinic, service and FAQ schema blocks in raw HTML, plus answer-first content so assistants have something reliable to quote.

A long-tail content hub

A 20-condition hub with 16 dedicated condition pages and a 17-post blog — capturing the symptom and "near me" searches patients actually type.

Google Ads turnaround

Fixed the broken landing pages, rebuilt conversion tracking, cleaned the negative-keyword lists and plugged the competitor leak.

One tap to book

Online booking wired to the clinic's own system, click-to-call throughout, and a sticky Call / Book bar on mobile.

The careful part

Moving off Wix without touching email

A clinic runs on its inbox — referrals, results and patient messages. DECA's email is on Google Workspace, so the migration was planned to move only the website and leave mail exactly where it was.

What was protected

  • Google Workspace mail records left completely untouched
  • Analytics and Search Console history preserved
  • All 47 legacy Wix URLs 301-redirected to their new equivalents
  • Only the website's DNS record changed — fully reversible

How it ran

Build & stage

The full 54-page site built and reviewed on a preview URL, so the clinic signed off on the real thing before anything changed.

Point the website only

Only the site's DNS record moved to the new host. Mail routing was deliberately left exactly as it was.

Certificates & redirects

SSL validated, canonical redirects and the 47 legacy Wix URL maps switched on together.

Verify end to end

Every page tested over TLS, every redirect followed, the booking flow and contact form confirmed working.

Submit & index

Sitemap filed, indexing requested, and the old Wix site set to no-index to avoid duplicate content.

Depth that gets found

A page for every question

Patients don't search for "clinic" — they search for their problem. So the site was built as a hub: a service page for each discipline, a dedicated page for each condition, and a blog that answers the questions people ask before they book.

  • A 20-condition hub, each linking to a dedicated page
  • Service pages titled for how patients search ("Chiropractor in Oshawa")
  • A 17-post blog answering real pre-booking questions
  • A dedicated Auto & Work Injury (MVA / WSIB) page

The ad account

Making every click count

A rebuilt website only helps if the ads pointing at it work. We took the Google Ads account apart and put it back together around real bookings.

Fixed

Stopped paying for 404s

Every ad landing page that had been returning "page not found" was mapped to a working, keyword-matched page — clearing the policy violation and the wasted spend.

Rebuilt

Tracking that tells the truth

Conversion actions were rebuilt so a real booking or call counts — and a map tap doesn't. The account can finally optimise toward patients, not gestures.

Reported

Every dollar accounted for

Negative-keyword lists cleaned, the competitor leak quantified and cut, and the whole account summarised for the clinic in a plain-English monthly report.

Where it stands

What we can prove today

The rebuilt site and cleaned-up campaigns are recent. Rather than quote projected traffic figures, here is what has actually been measured and verified — with performance reviewed with the client every month.
