The clinic AI assistants couldn't see
Albion Health Medical Centre is a busy walk-in and family practice on Albion Road. Their website was a Wix template that told search engines the clinic was in the wrong city — and told AI assistants almost nothing at all. We rebuilt it from scratch.

Figures are measured from the client's previous and current websites. This site launched in August 2026 — traffic and booking performance will be reported after the first full quarter of data, not estimated.
A template that worked against them
Walk-in patients decide fast. They search on a phone, usually while feeling unwell, and they want three answers immediately: are you open, where are you, can I just walk in? The old site made all three hard — and made the clinic close to invisible to AI assistants, which is increasingly where "walk-in clinic near me" gets asked.
Over 1 MB of code per page
Slow on the mobile connections patients actually use — and page speed is a ranking factor Google measures directly.
Three pages had no headline at all
No H1 for Google to read means no clear signal about what the page is even for.
Business data said "Toronto", not Etobicoke
For a clinic that lives or dies on proximity searches, this was the most expensive line of code on the site.
Nothing structured for AI to quote
Two schema blocks, no doctor data, no FAQ data, no AI-crawler guidance. Assistants had nothing reliable to cite.
Rebuilt for how patients search now
Not a redesign of the old site — a new one, built on static HTML with no page builder between the patient and the page.
Speed as a feature
Hand-built static pages, optimised photography, no framework tax. The homepage went from 1,022 KB to 36 KB.
Local signals, corrected
Precise Etobicoke address, hours, phone and service area in machine-readable data on every page.
Built for AI answers
Clinic, physician, FAQ and article schema in raw HTML — then tested as GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and Bingbot to confirm each receives the complete page.
One tap to act
Book Appointment above the fold, click-to-call throughout, and a sticky Call / Directions bar on mobile.
Hours that tell the truth
A live open/closed badge computed in the clinic's own timezone — never "Open today" on a Sunday.
Accessible by default
WCAG AA contrast verified by computation, full keyboard navigation, and content that works with JavaScript off.
Moving a live clinic off Wix
A medical practice cannot lose email for an afternoon. Referrals, lab results and patient messages all run through it. The migration was planned so that mail never moved at all — only the website did.
What was protected
- Google Workspace mail records left untouched
- Existing Google Ads conversion tracking recovered and re-implemented
- Every old Wix URL 301-redirected to its new equivalent
- A second clinic domain redirected to the primary one
- SSL issued and verified on both domains before cutover
How it ran
Build & stage
The full site built and reviewed on a temporary domain, so the client signed off on the real thing before anything changed.
Point the website only
A single record changed at the registrar. Mail routing was deliberately left exactly as it was.
Certificates & redirects
SSL validated on both domains, canonical redirects and legacy URL mapping switched on together.
Verify end to end
Every page tested over TLS, every redirect followed, the contact form delivered and confirmed received.
Submit & index
Sitemap filed with Google and Bing, IndexNow fired, indexing requested page by page.
A website that keeps earning
A launch is a starting line. We added a hub-and-spoke content structure so the clinic publishes seasonal health guides its community actually searches for — each one a new way to be found by someone who wasn't looking for the clinic by name.
- A dedicated page for "family doctor accepting new patients"
- A Health Resources hub that collects every guide
- Seasonal guides timed to publish before demand arrives
- A physician review byline on all clinical content
A doctor's name on the medicine
Google holds health content to a higher bar than any other topic. Every clinical page carries a physician review byline with credentials — visible to patients and encoded in the structured data.
Say only what's true
The clinic bills OHIP and offers self-pay for uninsured patients — no private insurance. That single position is stated consistently in the copy, the FAQs and the payment data machines read.
Verification that machines can read
The clinic's LegitScript certification appears sitewide and is registered in the structured data, so it counts as a trust signal to search engines — not just a badge in the footer.
What we can prove today
This site launched in August 2026. Rather than quote projected traffic figures, here is what has actually been measured and verified — with performance reporting to follow once there is a full quarter of data.
Is your clinic invisible to AI search?
We'll audit your site the same way we audited Albion Health — and show you exactly what ChatGPT and Google can and can't see.
